Roxy - Our Foxy Doggy

Here she is! The kids had been asking for a dog for... years now. I told them that when D turned three years old, we would get a dog. That way, there would be no babies and dogs (a combo I refuse to try and repeat), and R would have plenty of time to get used to the idea :)
Well, once we got back from Phoenix, it was Priority One to find a dog. A couple days ago, we went to the animal shelter to look at a different dog when little Roxy caught our eye (she was called America then). So, after a little time getting to know her - her likes, dislikes... her political affiliations - we decided she was the dog for us!
Roxy has been so good! It has been a rather smooth transition so far. She's so sweet and really good with the kids and she's HOUSE TRAINED!!

Snow Shoeing Anyone?

Well, life here in little Heber City is pretty slow and that's just how we like it. Last weekend we decided at the last minute to take the kids snow shoeing. They had never been, and for the record, anyone who has not tried this fantastic "sport" and likes to hike or just enjoy the beauty of the outdoors, this activity is HIGHLY recommended by the Jensen's.

Even McKenzie, our little "nature girl" as Ken has lovingly and facetiously nicknamed her, had a GREAT time and was even caught smiling and laughing a time or two.

Mathew had a few coordination issues...

But in the end he was able to make it through with no major injuries:)

We all had a great time getting away from the computer, playstation and the wii and can't wait for all of you to join us for our next outing.
WE LOVE YOU!!

Rock n' Roll Run Review

Last weekend, we drove to Phoenix for the Rock n' Roll Marathon. The weather was beyond beautiful (why did we ever move away from that place?) and the run went well. I finished in 2:16:07 (just over a minute past my goal time) and enjoyed most of the experience :)

My mom and step dad flew down to meet us and, along with R and the kids, they were such troopers - waiting at several places along the course to cheer me on. It was such a great help!

We decided we will definitely be back next year (R can run that one) and maybe even make it a yearly tradition. That Phoenix weather is sooo nice!

The drive to Phoenix from Albuquerque is really beautiful. It took us just over six hours... or four movies, depending on your method of counting.

The portable DVD player is one of man's GREAT inventions!!
