Cakes for Valentines

For Christmas this year we drew names for Secret Santa. I drew my roommate, Brittany. I thought it would be fun to take cake decorating classes together for her gift. So... we finally started our classes this month! We are just starting out, but it'a a lot of fun and a great activity for us to do together. Here are some pictures of the cakes we made this week.

Our lesson this week was about making stars and roses. These roses are my first attempt, but I think they turned out pretty good. :)

This rose was my favorite. I mixed the pink and purple and it came our pretty cool.

This is Brittany's cake. She is an art major and very talented. We bought a bigger rose tip so we could make big roses to put on cupcakes. :)

Here's Brittany with her cake. Yummy!

This is my cake. I made it for Braden. We call each other "love slugs." That is a very long story though. :) HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, EVERYONE!

Sleepyheads

R took this picture a couple of evenings ago. This is really how these two fell asleep. Apparently, at one point D began to drool onto L's face (poor girl)!

This photo is a good representation of D and L; D is wearing a hat (which he does 24/7 these days) and L has some kind of crazy layering going on with her clothes.

Belated Birthdays ROCK!

Can I just say that late B-Day presents are THE BEST! Dad gave me my card last weekend and the money was burning a hole in my pocket. I wanted to do that one thing that I love above all else. Spend time with my family. So...

I packed up my family and we headed down to Trafalga to go Mini Golfing.

My kids hadn't been mini golfing in years! (sad I know) The only indoor mini golf place close by was a Black Light Course with an underwater theme. (ya...quite the experience:)

Mathew, being the "blowfish" that he is...

And for desert... We exercised our inner speedsters!

We all had a great time and can't wait for my birthday card from Dad next year!!!! Thanks Dad!

Which Side?

Today D was putting his pants on - or trying to - all by himself. He was debating where to start and asked me,

"Mom, which side is the bum side?"

The New Kid in Town

Hi, Family!
I'm so excited that we have a blog now! I've been desolate since the Nuttall Newsletter was discontinued. :( It's so fun to hear everyone's news.

Ken's Little Project

This is one of the houses Ken is building. The pictures don't do it justice. The lot is on about a 35 degree hill...

...they had to blast through a lot of rock (18 feet of bed rock -5 weeks of constant hammering) just to get the foundation laid...

The house it self is about 4500 square feet... not huge by "Interlocken" standards, but, what sets this house apart is where and how it is built.

There is a GINORMOUS drop off just over that deck.

Here are a few pictures of the scenery from every soon-to-be window in the place...

Master Bedroom view...

GOOD LUCK KEN!!!

Draper Temple Open House

The Ebert family had an opportunity to tour the new Draper temple on January 17th .
It was a three and a half hour event but well worth it !!! The temple had a great spirit and is so beautiful ! We were so grateful for the opportunity we had to go see it. After previewing the temple we went as a family to a special restaurant downtown called "The Roof." It is at the top of the Joesph Smith Memorial building overlooking the Salt Lake temple . We had a great time enjoying each other and taking in the beautiful view of the temple!

On the 21st of January, Don and Kaylynn had an opportunity to serve as ushers and security at the Draper Temple site. Don was a tour bus guide in the morning and Kaylynn did the same job in the evening. Don also served as security on the second floor of the temple in the evening, which meant the he walked around and greeted people a lot ! It was an awesome experience one we will never forget . At one point late in the evening Don found himself alone on the upper floor of the temple he said,” It was a great experience one I will never forget .” It was so awesome to be a represenitives of the church and share our testimonies with the people coming to visit the temple.
